KAMAL SHARMA :: President BJP(Punjab)

An exemplary political personality especially for youngsters, Mr. Kamal Sharma has risen to the prestigious post of President of Bhartiya Janata Party Punjab at the age of 42. He's currently the youngest State President of BJP throughout India. Irrespective of the fact that his family had no political background, BJP high command appointed him as Punjab BJP chief on 15th January, 2013 considering his relentless efforts for strengthening the organisation and for discharging his duties assigned to him from time to time. Before becoming the President of Punjab BJP,Kamal Sharma has worked for ABVP from 1985 to 2003(19 years) at different posts. Worked as Media & Political Advisor to Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Sh.Shivraj Chauhan & Punjab CM S.Prakash Singh Badal respectively. He has been the State Gen.Secy. of BJP from 2007-2013.

Kamal Sharma was Born on 17th March 1970 in a service class family at Ferozepur to Late Sh.Tilak Raj Sharma and Srimati Kamla Sharma. The family had migrated from Sialkot(Pakistan) to Gurdaspur after partition in 1947. Sh.Tilak Raj ji used to work for Railways & was posted in Ferozepur after which the family shifted its base to the border district of Punjab,Ferozepur. Kamal Sharma is the youngest child (One edlder Brother & Sister) of his parents.He grew up in a culture that instilled in him the values of generosity, benevolence and social service.

He received his basic education from H.M.Sr.Sec.School in Ferozepur & Graduated in 1989 from R.S.D.College in Ferozepur. During his school days he was very good in studies & actively took part in extra-curicullar activites like debates,poem recitation,plays etc. He was also active in sports till his late years in school.

Political Career in ABVP

During 1984 when Punjab was passing through the worst days of militancy many hindu families had started migrating from the state due to fear. All these events instigated him & he for the first time at the tender age of 14 started attenting Sangh(RSS) shakhas in 1984. Read more..
